These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChainMail ("the app", "the software"), a desktop email client developed and published by ChainMail ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using ChainMail, you agree to these Terms.

1. License Grant

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ChainMail on the number of devices permitted by your license tier.

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the software
• Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the software for any unlawful purpose

2. Free Trial

ChainMail offers a 7-day free trial beginning on first launch. During the trial, the app is fully functional. After the trial period, a valid license key is required to continue using the app.

3. Subscriptions & Payment

ChainMail licenses are offered as annual subscriptions. By purchasing a subscription:

• You agree to pay the applicable fee for your chosen plan
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice before your next renewal

4. Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are unsatisfied with ChainMail within this period, contact us at admin@chainmail.online for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are provided at our discretion.

5. Account & License Keys

Your license key is personal to you and may not be shared with others. We reserve the right to disable license keys that are found to be shared, redistributed, or used in violation of these Terms.

Each license key permits activation on a limited number of devices (as specified at purchase). You may deactivate a device at any time to free up an activation slot.

6. Google Account Access

ChainMail accesses your Gmail account via Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol. By signing in:

• You authorize ChainMail to access your Gmail data as described in our Privacy Policy
• You may revoke this access at any time through your Google Account permissions
• We are not responsible for any changes Google makes to their API that may affect ChainMail's functionality

7. AI Features

The optional AI email drafting feature requires you to provide your own API key from a supported AI provider. By using this feature:

• You agree to the terms and conditions of your chosen AI provider
• You are responsible for any costs incurred through your API key usage
• You understand that email context is sent directly to the AI provider from your device
• We are not responsible for the content generated by AI providers

8. Privacy

Your use of ChainMail is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data.

9. Disclaimers

ChainMail is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Any defects will be corrected
• The software will be compatible with all systems or email configurations

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of ChainMail.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for your most recent subscription period.

11. Beta Software

ChainMail is currently in beta. Beta software may contain bugs, incomplete features, or other issues. By using beta software, you acknowledge and accept these risks. We appreciate your feedback to help improve the product.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of ChainMail after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use ChainMail ceases immediately
• You must uninstall the software from all devices
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including limitation of liability, disclaimers, and dispute resolution)

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.
